Description: ActorQuest's goal is to educate your camper on becoming a theatre artist through igniting their imagination, engaging them in the development of their abilities, and nurturing their personal transformation through the experience. Our primary focus is acting and we take the campers through developing their Voice/Speech, Body/Movement, and Confidence through various classes, warm ups, focus exercises, games, etc. We also emphasize the importance of working as an Ensemble through Storytelling- and we do this through rehearsing and performing a showcase at the end of the week. Although this camp mostly focuses on acting, we also like to introduce our campers to other genres of artistry in theatre- past workshops have included- Design (Costume, Set), Silks/Acrobatics, and Stage Management. Visit our blog at http://actorquest.blogspot .com/ to see what the fun looks like for the past two years. Students will need to bring a lunch, snacks, and water each day to camp! About the instructor: Catie Councell is a professional Actress and Theatre Artist in Atlanta. After graduating with her BFA in Acting from Brenau University, Catie went on to join the Acting Apprentice Company at Aurora Theatre in Lawrenceville, GA. During her time there she performed in a concert of South Pacific, in the storytelling Terror on the Trail, in the TYA show The Cat in the Hat, and helped develop a new musical from NYC entitled Milo at the Movies. Catie also understudied the leads in Lombardi, and Don't Dress for Dinner. While at the Aurora Theatre Catie also worked with Education Department teaching acting classes as a TA, and as a lead instructor. This will be her third year developing, teaching, and directing ActorQuest with the University of North Georgia's Continuing Education Department.
