Description: This is an Earth Day panel presentation and discussion with question and answer period. It will begin with a one hour reception featuring environmental exhibitors and refreshments, followed by the 1.5 hour featured program. Dr. J. Marshall Sheperd - “Prehistoric, Contemporary, Futuristic: For Water, It's All The Same, Or Is It?” Water issues and the correlations to climate change, while offering ideas on sustainable ways individuals and businesses can help conserve Georgia's environment. Dr. William (Bill) Coates, Jr. - “Theological View of Stewardship” Dr. James W. Porter- “The Effects of Sea-Level Rise on Georgia” Latest long-term projection for sea-level rise, which is due to glacial melt and thermal expansion of the oceans. This information will be used to highlight the need for evidenced-based decision-making in setting environmental policy for our state.
