Tonight, it's all about "Grey's Anatomy." And "The Office." Unfortunately, they're on at the same time. Luckily, I have a DVR and can record both. I hope you do, too.

'Grey's Anatomy'

  • When and where: 9-11 p.m. on ABC
  • Plot: Doctors and interns work at a hospital and deal with all kinds of romantic and various other relationships. Really, it's all about Meredith and Derrick. From the previews, it looks like Meredith and Derrick's renewed relationship is going to get a jolt because Rose, Derrick's flame last year, may be pregnant with his baby.
  • Why watch: Interesting characters and lots of relationship drama.
  • On the other hand: It's all about the relationships, that may be a little too much soap opera drama for some. And really, how many crazy cases can one hospital get?

'The Office'

  • When and where: 9-10 p.m. on NBC
  • Plot: Quirky characters work together in an office.
  • Why watch: The Jim and Pam romantic saga and Steve Carrell's politically incorrect character, Michael.
  • On the other hand: It's a quirky show, it may be not be for everyone.

Some other shows to check out tonight include "Ugly Betty" at 8 p.m. on ABC. This one's also a bit quirky with some over-the-top characters. There's also a few reality premiers -- "Survivor" at 8 p.m. on CBS and "Kitchen Nightmares" at 8 p.m. on FOX. And "ER" enters its 15th and final season at 10 p.m. on NBC. This show is probably well past its expiration date, but I'm curious to see the return of Mark Green. I've heard heard he'll be returning to the show with some flashback scenes (he did afterall die quite a few years ago).
