It seems unsanitary, even wrong.

But yes, there are waterless urinals in the Hall County school system, popping up first at Jones Elementary School.

School officials vouch for them, saying that they are odorless and will save bunches of water. And because of the water-less operation, they will pay for themselves in three years, said Lloyd Smee, maintenance director.

And there will be more of these devices on the way, so Hall school boys, be prepared.

But at cost savings like has been described and the urgent need to conserve water, this sounds like a trend that -- shall we say it? -- shouldn't go down the toilet.

A student will still have to wash thier hands unless they intend to provide some sort of sanitary wipe. The water savings is good. Currently we are worried about staph and MSR's so hopefully they have this in mind.

NO water means infections among everybody, but the government is in control. So we can blame it on them, to make us feel good.
