I know some development is necessary. But I still cringe when I see bulldozers moving a bunch of dirt around where there used to be pretty trees.
Someone has been clearing a nice big spot on top of a hill at the end of Ga. 400 for a grocery store and other shops. Today I saw someone had cleared the area below that, right next to the Chestatee. I'm not sure if that's related to the other shopping center or not. There weren't actually trees on that spot, but it is right next to the river. I can't help but be a little sad for loss of green space. Anyone know what they're doing there?
I graduated from Berry College and just heard they are adding more dorms. Berry certainly has lots of space and will always be a beautiful campus, but do they really need more dorms? They just recently bulldozed a big area of trees for the new recreation center. At least that was something needed. They don't really need more dorms. I'm not sure if they've even named the last one they built (a year ago, I know, it was still called "New Residence Hall"). It's a small school and I that's part of its charm. Just limit enrollment. Stop subtracting from Berry's beauty.
