I grew up in northern Gwinnett County. When my parents moved there I think it was still out in the country. Now, every time I go home the amount of new development is almost disorienting. The landscape has completely changed even since I was in high school only six years ago.
When I graduated college and got married, I got the heck out of there. I live in Lumpkin County now and absolutely love it. There's very little traffic, there's beautiful mountains and during the summer there are tons of things to do.
This past weekend a couple of my friends from college came up to visit. We picked strawberries at the Dahlonega Vegetable Farm, went tubing on the Chestatee, ate lunch at a local place on the square and bought some goodies from a couple different local candy shops. A Saturday can't get much better than that in my opinion. Oh, and we made a strawberry pie all from scratch with our freshly picked strawberries.
My friends told me they were jealous I live in such a cool place. Of course, I don't blame them. I love living in the country. I wouldn't move back to Suwanee for anything. Money magazine can rank it the best place to live in the U.S. if they want to (it's currently No. 10), and I'm still staying put.

I'm a bit worn out after last night's "Heroes." They crammed a lot of twists into two hours. I should've brushed up on last season before I tried to digest all that.
