Well I am GLAD to be wrong with my prediction. David Cook won!!! I'm so excited. They are both great, they really are, but I love David Cook. I'm so proud of him.

The whole finale this year was absolutely amazing. I'd say it was the best ever.

In case you for some reason missed it, all of the top 12 performed again. But they got to perform some amazing duets, a few solos, and they threw in some well-known musicians, too. And it was all incredible. I love that so many the performances featured this year's contestants.

David Archuleta and David Cook started it off with an amazing duet of "Hero." I wish they'd put that up for sale on iTunes.

Carly and Michael had a great duet, as well. And Jason's "Hallelujah" was beautiful once again. The top six guys' medley were pretty good, too. And Cook got to sing with ZZ Top, which has got be an amazing feeling for him. Syesha got to perform with Seal and Brooke had a beautiful, folsky duet with Graham Nash. Archuleta performed "Apolgize" with One Republic; if he puts out an album something like that performance, he might could really sell some music. Even the performances with all 12 rose above their usual over-the-top cheesiness, and they were pretty good, too.

So what did you think of the finale? And what do you think about our new "American Idol, David Cook?" Share your thoughts by commenting on this blog.

Thank goodness!!! I totally thought they'd give it to Archuleta. But this is so much better.

But what's up with the parade of old rock stars throughout the whole show?
