I was hoping for a really great show tonight after last week's disappointment. It was just good, though. There were some really good performances, but too many mediocre and bad ones.

David Cook's "Hungry Like A Wolf" performance was another solid one. But it wasn't anything spectacular. The second, "Teenage Wasteland," was much better. Not one of his best ever, but it was very good.

I thought Syesha was great on both of her songs. She really performed. I'm surprised Simon didn't like "Proud Mary" with all the hip shaking that was involved. But at least he loved "A Change is Gonna Come." I guess Randy is just really attached to the original version of that song.

Jason looked really comfortable and like he was having fun on "I Shot the Sheriff." I hope he at least had some fun, because the judges hated it. I don't know the song well enough to know exactly how bad it was. I didn't like the song; maybe I just didn't like the arrangement. Unfortunately, on the second song he forgot some lyrics. You just can't do that when you're in the top four. I don't understand how he can act so carefree. It kind of seems like he just gave up this week. But I think he might just come off that way because he's so laid back. I think he'll probably be going home, though.

David Archuletta picked some really well-known songs. That kind of scared me, but he did really well with them. "Stand By Me"had some great runs. His arrangement of "Love Me Tender" was really beautiful and made the song current, too. I don't know if he "crushed" the competition, but it was the best of the night.

Do you think Jason's definitely going home? Did David A "crush" the competition? Share your thoughts on tonight's performances by commenting on this blog.

I think he was actually relieved to be going. His recap of "Sheriff" at the end of the show (at least the few seconds they showed) showed more of his style and personality - like the pressure was off.

I like him, but it was definitely time for him to go.

Jason Castro is going home. Who knew. I do like his personality, but he was so bad last night. He said someone told him he "shot the tambourine man." That's a pretty good sum of his performances la...

Brooke is going home. I'm pretty surprised it wasn't Syesha, though Syesha deserved to stay after her performances last night. I would rather Jason have gone. Or David Archuletta. Hopefully that wo...

I think the producers made the biggest mistake of tonight. The show was just too rushed. Poor Paula was so confused she started reviewing Jason's second song he hadn't even sung yet. I guess they p...

Despite a great performance, Carly is going home. Syesha joined her in the bottom two. The contestants this season have really developed into individual artists and drawn fan bases, and this wee...

With the supposed most talented group of contestants ever, I guess the producers decided they'd try to throw something really tough at them and see what happened. Andrew Lloyd Webber songs proved t...
