This is the best time of the year to enjoy an outdoor run. The weather is perfect for beginners. For new runners, its best to start conditioning when weather isn't your biggest concern. Also, enjoy the scenary that is available outdoors. I'm fortunate enough on a given day to see the lake, turning leaves and mountains in the distance all in a 45-minute run. If you aren't running, you don't know the fun your missing.

I love to run. Good idea for a blog too! Here's my issue-TIME! I never could understand the people that said "I just don't have the time." I figured they were making excuses and using that time to do other thigs like watch TV or sleep. Now, I'm faced with school, family, homework and work. I honestly leave the house some days at 7am only to return at 1am. Do you have any advise on how to make time to get a good run in? Unfortunatly, what used to be 45 minutes a day 5-6 days a week has turned into 15 minutes a day 2-3 days a week. :o(

You're right that time is a major factor in getting a good run in 5 or 6 days a week. Since you get up at 7 a.m., I wouldn't suggest getting up any earlier (unless you're a morning person). My idea would be to find time in the middle of the day. Remember, a 25-minute run will consume nearly an hour with preparation and cooling down once complete. However, that time running will add fuel to your body for the rest of the day, and you'll be glad you took the time to go for a run.

Don't let the heat be an excuse not to run. The only thing you need to do is make adjustments. Running is the afternoon is not realistic this time of year, so aim for early morning or before sunset...
