When it comes to education, seems like everybody can tell you its problems and give you what they perceive are the answers.

For example, a group of teachers at a social gathering will soon pull their focus off the event they are at and start talking shop. And sooner or later, the conversation turns to, "You know, if only the state Department of Education...," or "Why doesn't the (fill in the name of the school system) do such and such..."

Let me know some of your thoughts on this heavy topic that affects so many lives. What do you see wrong or right with our educational system? What are some ways to make improvements?

One idea might be allowing teachers and students to discuss and do projects on current or relvant events like the water issue. Ecology experiments or cleaning a section of the lake might be a rewarding project will learning at the same time. Social projects like fixing a disabled person a meal or delivering groceries to a needy family.
