I know it seems like it was forever ago when underdog Kris Allen beat Adam Lambert to win "American Idol," but they're both finally putting out some new music. Allen's self titled album will release Nov. 17, and you may have heard his first single on the radio already -- "Live Like We're Dying."
Hear snippets from the album. I think it's overproduced, but otherwise I like it. A lot of well-known writers contributed. I just wish they had kept more of Allen's acoustic feel. The album also features "Heartless," which he performed to rave reviews on the show. It's got a slightly different feel, but still good. I think you'll hear him plenty on the pop stations and likely the Christian stations, too.
Lambert's album comes out Nov. 23. Talk about two different artists. Hear snippets from his album. Most of Lambert's music has this sort of 80s/techno/dance feel. He's got a couple of slow songs, one a piece that sounds like it's something from some Broadway show. I think it will be successful. I like some of the songs. There's plenty of dance music there. And Lambert is very talented. I think it's the kind of album his fans will expect.
