When is it best to ask folks to refrain from asking questions?
Why do some ideas need to be protected from scrutiny?
Ask yourselves these questions when encountering ideas and notions you seek to question. Is it really "uncivil" to question long held claims? Is it really "uncivil" to seek to determine the truthfulness of what folks say?
Who fears questions? Who considers questions "uncivil"? Ask yourself why ideas need to be protected from critical analysis. Ask yourself why claims need to be protected from requests for evidence. Ask yourself why "truth" must never be questioned.
I beseech you, my internet kin, find a way to question anything and everything. Don't settle for claims of "incivility" when you merely ask your questions. Don't accept the notion that questioning things is "uncivil". This is hogwash, and an attempt to silence dissent.
Find your answers, even when you are asked to remain silent. Work your questioning magic where you can, and where the censors allow. When silenced, find new and creative ways to ask your questions. But never let the questions stop. Never let claims of "incivility" interfere with a legitimate desire to seek truth in claims.
When we silence questions, we silence any means to determine truth.
