Halloween is so much fun when the ghoulish holiday lands on a weekend night! It also is the night that daylight saving time begins -- spooky. Anyway, there are loads of local happenings including special radio broadcasts, independent scary movie premieres and costume contests for everyone in the Hall County area.
Here's a list of a few local Halloween events:
--Bottom of the Cup in Flowery Branch will feature Captain Luther Howdy and the Prozac Cowboys on Halloween night and there will be a $500 cash prize for the best costume.
--The Dam Bar in Buford will have the American Flyers performing and a costume party with a $300 cash prize.
--Blonde will have a Heaven and Hell Halloween party with prizes and cash for the best costume at the party.
--This is one of my favorites, the Locos Deli Halloween party Friday night. There will be a first, second and third prize in the annual costume contest, a best dressed female award and an original short film called "Zombie Fried" that will be shown for the first time.
--Wild Wing Cafe also will have a costume contest with cash prizes on Saturday.
--Monkey Barrel owner Chris Jones said that a DJ will be playing Halloween night and there will be a costume party with prizes.
--And if you are ready to go all out, head down to Wild Bill's in Atlanta. The club will hand out $1,500 for the best costume.
--If you are wanting to just make it a quiet night at home there is something you could enjoy on the local Brenau radio station, 89.1-FM. The War of the Worlds will be broadcast at 8 p.m. The broadcast was made famous in 1938 by Orson Welles who created panic with a story of the world ending.
Whatever you and your friends or family choose to do this Halloween just remember to be safe!
